Sokola Rimba

Sokola Rimba or Jungle School is a literacy program for the Orang Rimba, a nomadic tribe that inhabits the Bukit Duabelas Forest area. The education program there has been initiated since 1999. Then in 2004, Sokola began developing a comprehensive curriculum to help the Orang Rimba deal with the changes and threats that come with it. Sokola together with community organizations make efforts to ensure the fulfillment of the rights of the Orang Rimba to state services, recognition and livelihood security.
