Alberta is an anthropologist who focuses on issues of identity, gender, indigenous communities, and rural–urban dynamics. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from the University of Indonesia and a Master of Anthropology and Planetary Futures from the Australian National University. She has been deeply involved in various initiatives with marginalized communities, including the indigenous Orang Rimba community in Bukit Duabelas, Jambi; women’s waste-management groups in Semarang; and women's groups in Kampung Sodan, Sumba. Additionally, she works as a social researcher employing a range of ethnographic methods, such as live-in, participatory action research, multi-modal approaches, and other qualitative methodologies
